Early morning walk
This morning at 5:30am I took my camera and went monkey hunting. When I walked passed Winston, the security guard, I about scared him out of his skin! Poor guy. In his Jamaican accent he said, ‘Oh Mama, where you go so early in te mornin?’ I said Winston, I’m going on a monkey adventure. He laughed while shaking his head and walked me to the gate. ‘Good luck Mama.’
It had rained in the night, and huge muddy puddles were scattered along the dirt roads. While walking beneath some over hanging branches, I was suddenly showered with raindrops collected on the leaves. Two monkeys silhouetted against the morning sky were making their way overhead to another tree deeper into the jungle. I wasn’t able to photograph them but will be more prepared and ready for that next time!
I came to Red Frog Beach and walked along it for some time. All the while expressing gratitude to Father in Heaven for blessing my life as He does.
As the sky lightened I noticed so many beautiful flowers. I am in awe of the beauty that surrounds us.
What better way to start the day than a walk through the jungle!
Another beautiful day
Danny and I stepped out onto the bow of our boat for the sunset this evening. We looked around as the moon began peaking over masts and the sky darkened. Everything is so peaceful.
The sunset was beautiful and spilled a golden blanket over everything.
Yesterday we’d promised Jessica and Jeff who run the ‘Castaways’ restaurant, that we’d support them this evening, so we made our way down the boardwalk to them.
Castaways is an old River boat that was rotting out on a mooring ball, and was brought into the marina here and restored and made into a restaurant. Tonight was Italian night, and for $35 a couple, we were served Brochette, Spaghetti bolognese and Tiramisu. It also came with a bottle of wine but we substituted that for fresh mango juice. It was delicious.
Afterward we walked back, hand in hand, grateful for yet another beautiful day.
