Day: October 2, 2015
We were blessed with another beautiful day with my handsome brother. He has wanted to be in the living room among all the family more. I’ve worried it’s just too loud or busy and have asked Jan several times if he’s ok, and he tells me he’s fine and then falls back asleep. He chatted for a bit this morning, and ate a peach cup and a couple bites of Emma’s delicious cake, but aside from that he hasn’t had an appetite.
I noticed a few differences as the morning progressed. Jan’s feet had a mottled lavender color to them and were so cold even when under a blanket, and he was more pale today. By early afternoon his head began to hurt more, and I spoke with Trisha for advise on how to help him. She explained to me the maximum doses I can give him on the pain meds we are using, and by this evening he is maxed out on Oxycodone and almost maxed on Fentanyl. I will check on him every couple hours through the night and continue to try keep him comfortable.
This morning, someone visiting the house noticed a tiny kitten under the motor home. Bernadine gave it a bath and mommy’s dog, Teddy, adopted it. Jonathan walked around trying to find its Momma but it seems to be abandoned. It is so skinny but now has a full belly and a warm home.
The creatures entertained themselves by tie dying this afternoon. Some fantastic creations came about…
After the creatures were done with their artwork, they swam in the canal and then took showers under the hose outside.
This evening our time was spent listening to Danny and Hunter on the guitar, Mycah and Ezra on Ukes, and all of them singing.
We have some amazing talent in this family. They are thinking they will form a band and call it “Tough as Nels.” We’ll have T-shirts made up and be famous in no time at all.
I am so grateful for all the love we have for each other in this family. This family that includes us as blood relatives as well as all added and adopted family and friends. We love you all. Thank you for the messages, the texts, the visits and meals. Thank you for your unconditional love. My newly added sweet son, Landon, left today and I miss him so much. We are an Eternal Family. What else could possibly be as important?
